Ford celebrates 50 years of “1-2-3 victory” at Le Mans
Exactly 50 years on from Ford’s famous 1-2-3 outright victory at Le Mans, all four Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GTs will compete for GTE Pro class glory at the world’s greatest motor race, which takes place on June 18-19. The Ford GT racing car is based on the all-new Ford GT supercar, which is the pinnacle product of the Ford Performance division. With state-of-the-art aerodynamics, lightweight carbon fibre construction and a powerful and efficient Ford EcoBoost engine, the Ford GT has been built to go head-to-head with the GT establishment, and fight for victory in this legendary endurance battle.
With just days to go before the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing competes in the 84th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 18 and 19, Microsoft is releasing the 2016 Ford #66 Ford Racing GT Le Mans race car for free in Forza Motorsport 6. Beginning today, codes for the car will be sent via Xbox Live message to all gamers who have played Forza Motorsport 6. Note that, due to the large number of codes being sent, it could take up to seven days for players to receive their code.
To accompany the release of the Ford GT LM race car, Microsoft Xbox is also launching a brand new Le Mans-themed Rivals event in Forza Motorsport 6 this week.
