Even if Harman Kardon stepped over a new step in combining audio performances and luxate with its GLA-55 speaker system, the manufacturer doesn't forget its classical SoundSticks 2.1 system, multiple award winner and which has gained its place at the Museum of Modern Art, Moma.

An excellent fusion between design and sound

Harman Kardon clearly loves to combine design and audio performances, and the first remarkable thing regarding  this Soundsticks 2, is obviously its odd look. The two transparent satellite enclosures embed 4 small loudspeakers of 10W, and the subwoofer of 20W, laying out a clear polycarbonate shell, sublimated by a blue colored diode. Initially compatible for Mac exclusively, Soundsticks 2 can from now on be connected on any kind of device, thanks to its 3.5 jack connectivity. Before even connecting it to the sector, the first moments spent in its company let forecast only the best concerning the sound quality of this kit 2.1 signed Harman Kardon.

Excellent audio performances ?

And the least that one can say,  is that the audio quality is once more here, a practice from now on with Harman Kardon. Indeed, it is important to note that this unit, in spite of being intended to be connected to a PC or a MP3 reader, shows a care of completion just remarkable, in its design like said before, but also in the depth of the delivered sound. Harman Kardon used  all of its audio knowledge to offer near perfect product, even if the most "audiophile" of us will quickly notice a lack of mediums on some sonorities, such as rock'n'roll or metal. The restitution of the voices and acoustic music is on the other hand a pure wonder and the subwoofer delivers the low deep ones without being crushing, unlike similar kits 2.1, such as JBL's Encounters for example.

A true sound jellyfish

The startup button is located on the subwoofer, and the volume adjustment  carry out quite simply on the sensitive keys located on the principal satellites. Most of the time, the sound remains fine, clear and pure in any circumstance, and some will literally rediscover their favorite music with another sound dimension. Indeed, even if they appear less powerful in theory than other models of the same quality, the enclosures Soundsticks 2, and their frequency band 44 Hz/20 Khz, offer a limpid sound, and even if one can note some irregularities here and there, the Harman Kardon's kit delivers an astonishing sound, definitively.

A kit not to be missed

This 2.1 Soundsticks 2 kit is just fantastic for all those who love to combine design and high quality performances. Its quite expensive price can appear a little excessive for a "simple" 2.1 audio system, but its esthetics is just astonishing, and the audio performances delivered are just as its design, unique and exceptional for this price range.
