Sonic is back !

Sega has finally revealed the content of the Project Needlemouse recently wih the announcement of Sonic the Hedgehog 4, coming this summer on Wii, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The game will be downloadable through Xbox Live, Playstation Network and Wiiware, and will composed by different episodes. According to the trailer, this episode focuses on 2D platforming, just like Sonic on Genesis, and according to various sources, the game should be a sequel to Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles.

An episodic Sonic

Ken Balough, associate manager on the Sonic franchise said to Gamespot :"As mentioned, I think the best way to view it is as a first part in a much larger adventure. When Sega released Sonic 3, ultimately it was the part 1 of a story that saw its conclusion in Sonic & Knuckles. In that same spirit, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is a bigger story, and this is that first chapter." Sega should reveal more information about Sonic the Hedgehog 4 soon.

The game is due to release this summer on Xbox Live, Playstation Network and Wiiware, and will run in Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, while the Wii version will offer some specific gameplay mechanics using the Wii remote.
