Windows Marketplace et Microsoft My phone to save Windows mobile
With this new version, Microsoft plans to get back into the race and to be able to keep up with its most innovative rivals and to prepare the arrival of Windows 7 on the market. To do so, Microsoft is launching Windows market place and My Phone, two services which are meant to help Microsoft gaining the 3% of market share it has lost last year. Microsoft windows market place is nothing else than an online application store, just like what Apple launched first…. On its side, Microsoft My phone is a kind of online backup of your smartphone content like your calendar or contact information but also its multimedia files… sounds like Apple's mobile me ?

Windows Mobile 6.5 will have to face heavy competition lead by Google Android
So Microsoft will be the latest giant to launch its online application store…. It is a bit late for Microsoft as most advanced users have already chosen an other operating system brand like Android or Apple iphone which have clearly reengineered the way people use their mobile devices and smartphones.
Today, Google Android, chosen by many mobile phone manufacturers like Motorola, which was the last premium manufacturer still loyal to Windows but has embedded Android on its new promising "Dext". RIM and its Blackberry solution get more and more users everyday thanks to a professional OS and well built smartphones with integrated keyboards. (see the Blackberry Bold). Even Palm, which was in bad conditions is seeking to be a serious threat to Windows Mobile with its Palm Pre and new Palm WebOS.
