Wikipedia (Eng) with more than 3 million pages

Launched in 2001 by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger, the online collaborative encyclopaedia comprises more than 13 million articles in 271 languages. This week, more precisely on Monday, August 17, 2009, the encyclopaedia experienced an important event as its English version, the most complete version of all, has just passed the mark of 3 million articles. Then follow the German and French editions, with a bit less than 1 million and 840 000 articles respectively.
