Digital books are to meet success
Launched in 2007 by Amazon, the Kindle 1 and 2 have now been replaced by the Kindle DX (489$) in May 2009. As it is easy-to-use and as reading is comfortable, thanks to its capacity (3 500 books) and the possibility to read newspapers, this "Amazonian" adventure has now turned into a success-story. In total, nearly a million copies have been sold in the United States.

Sony and the Reader Pocket + Touch edition
As far as Sony is concerned, the Reader Pocket Edition (PRS-300) and the Reader Touch Edition (PRS-600) will soon be marketed. The PRS-300, available for the end of August, will be gifted with a 5"-screen and able to store up to 300 books. The PRS-600, more upscale, differs by its 6-inch tactile screen and in that its capacity of 350 books can be boosted via a memory card. However, it is too bad that both products remain definitely dependent on a computer cable for download.Besides, Sony also announces that the average price of a book that you download has been reduced to 9.99$. This will certainly cause American editors to worry, as they fear for their margins.
Finally, according to the latest rumors, Apple would be about to arrive on the e-book market with its Tablet Mac, gifted with a 9.7"-screen, which could immediately make its competitors look out of date. If you wish to learn more about this… Tablet Mac: a Kindle-killer for September ?
