Microsoft and Yahoo! together in search and advertising
The magazine D, All Things Digital by the Wall Street Journal indicates that an agreement between the 2 Internet giants, Microsoft and Yahoo!, should be announced very soon. Microsoft has already tried approaching Yahoo before by making a buy-out offer last year, as the latter was facing difficulties, but until now nothing had succeeded. According to an anonymous source of the WSJ, it is now over and done with: Microsoft and Yahoo will work together in the fields of search and advertising on the Internet.

With this deal, Microsoft will integrate its search engine Bing to Yahoo! pages. As per the terms of the agreement, on one hand Yahoo! will manage advertisements on the search engine and will earn in the first 2 years 110% of the income, then move to 90%. On the other hand, Microsoft will gain the market shares of Yahoo and would move to the 2nd position after Google. Here’s a deal that should make both companies happy. Let’s wait a confirmation by an official announcement though, it should happen today according to All Things Digital (WSJ).
