The Sony Ericsson Satio isn’t an unknown cellphone as it had already been presented earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress under the name Idou. Its large tactile screen and its 12-Mpix camera had caught our attention. Sony Ericsson has officialized the cellphone with the name Satio and has published more details about it. So we now know that its 3.5-inch tactile screen displays a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels in 16/9 format. The Sony Ericsson Satio is also equipped with an A-GPS module and is compatible with 3G+ and Wi-Fi.

As regards its 12-Mpix camera, Sony Ericsson also gave some more precisions. It will have a xenon flash and an autofocus, which are now essential features on this type of handset, but the Satio also offer offers assistance functions such as Smile recognition and a digital stabilization system...

Sony Ericsson had announced the former Idou for the 2nd half of 2009. This is getting more precise now, as it is expected for the last quarter of the year. The Samsung Pixon12 will therefore be available way before its colleague. Finally, the price of the Satio remains unknown.
