Firmware update of the Panasonic Lumix G 14-45mm OIS lens

The update of the software which operates the Lumix G 14-45mm lens on the micro 4/3 DMC-G1 is not just a slight modification, it really does improve the performances of the camera-lens couple. Indeed, this new firmware brings:

• better performances of the autofocus in continuous mode, i.e. the AFC mode 
• better mega O.IS. optical stabilization of the lens (the G1 itself isn’t stabilized)
• used with the GH1 which has video functions, this new firmware reduces the noise of diaphragm control by shooting in 720p (but not in 1080p).
