10 megapixels, 3x zoom
Economic, rather compact and well-achieved, the new compact Optio E75 is equipped with a 10-Mpix sensor and with a 3x optical zoom (equivalent to 32-96mm). It also has a 2.7" LCD wtith 230 000 pixels. This little Optio is very simple and offers no optical stabilization. Its sensitivity stops at 1600 ISO. It however offers Face detection coupled with a face-priority mode to settle focus and exposure on the faces of your subjects, but also automatic Smile detection which makes the camera trigger automatically when your subject smiles.

The Optio E75 also offers the usual scene modes such as Sports, Portrait, Sunset, Night and Landscape, modes which are automatically detected by the camera which sets itself on the right scene mode. Pentax Optio E75: price and availability
No lithium batteries provided with the camera, to keep a low price, so the Optio E75 runs on standard or rechargeable AA batteries. Even though we prefer a true lithium battery, being able to use rechargeable batteries can come in handy. And this absence of lithium battery impacts on the price as the Optio E75 will be available mid-June 2009 at the recommended retail price of 119 euros VAT incl.
