4x lens and wide-angle

Rather economical, the Kodak Easyshare M420 is a rather basic compact, but it offers 2 particularly appealing features: a very thin body of only 10mm and a 28mm lens with wide-angle. This Schneider Kreuznach 4x lens therefore corresponds to a 28-112mm. It offers the comfort of close-up framing in a place with little backward space and will be perfect for photos of landscapes and benefits from true optical stabilization. With a small telephoto lens equivalent to 112mmit is fine for portrait pictures. The lens allows taking macro pictures at 1cm only in wide-angle.

Photo functions

The Smart Capture function identifies the type of scene and automatically defines the camera settings accordingly. The M420 offers a comfortable 3" screen for 230 000 pixels, a lithium battery, and its weight is only of 142 grams without battery. Face detection and sensitivity from 64 to 3200 ISO (and specific 6400 ISO mode in lesser resolution) complete the technical specs list of the M420, which also lets you capture videos in VGA quality and 640 x 480 pixels at 30 fps, a rather ordinary video mode at a time when 720p video becomes standard on the compacts of most manufacturers.

Easy Sharing

You can very easily send and share your pics and videos on YouTube and Kodak Gallery via the Share button of the Easyshare software. You may also take photos and record video sequences in high definition, then view them on an HD TV thanks to the docking cradle HD Kodak EasyShare, available as an option. The philosophy of sharing pictures is always at the heart of Kodak’s strategy. Similarly, you’ll be able to tell a story in your own way thanks to the slide show mode which lets you add sound to your pics and transition effects from the camera.
