Microsoft made it possible for the general public to download its new operating system, Windows 7 in RC version, available in several languages. Any Net user can now download this nearly-finalized version of the OS until July 1, 2009. The license provided for free will be valid for 1 year, until June 1, 2010, but with a limitation: from March 1, 2010 the system will shut down automatically every 2 hours.
Microsoft offers its system in ‘pre-final’ version to potential users as well as to companies, for free and without restriction. This period of use by the general public should reveal the latest bugs, if any, and help the operating system reach maturity before it is sold.
