Cosina announces that a Voigtländler adapter ring will be released, which will allow mounting a Leica-M mount lens on a hybrid Micro 4/3 compact. Interesting!

My Leica M lenses on my compact camera

This little ring could well give an additional argument when adopting the micro 4/3 concept developed by Olympus and Panasonic. Indeed, with this Voigtländer VM adapter ring it will be possible to use the traditional Leica M lenses on a Panasonic G1 compact, or better a GH1 (with its full HD 1080p video), or else with the future compact announced by Olympus at the Photokina and which really looks like a Leica or a traditional compact – as some manufacturers like Rollei knew how to create in silver photo times.

Mechanical adapter

Of course, the electronic connection of the Leica, Voigtländer or Zeiss lenses goes down the drain with this adapter, but this is not really important because electronics are far from being the primary quality of lenses usually made for the Leica M universe, which gives a good place to optics.
