Finish and conception of the Tag Heuer Meridiist
We now get to know the features of the 1st cellphone of the Swiss watchmaker Tag Heuer, the Meridiist. It had to be exemplary, and it is, at least from the viewpoint of its conception. Wrapped in a stainless steel body, with a polish finish (finish which also includes a digital keyboard) and the back sheathed in veal or alligator leather, the Meridiist is truly a sophisticated cellphone, all the more so as that list also includes sapphire glass to protect both displays, inspired by luxury watches.

Features that aren’t really hi-tech for the Swiss cellphone
Although the Meridiist appearance is extremely refined, its technical specs are more modest because the cellphone is meant to be a basic means of communication. Only compatible with GSM and GPRS networks (no mobile broadband for the Meridiist then), the Swiss cellphone is equipped with 2 displays, a main 1.9-inch LCD with QVGA resolution and a secondary OLED indicator with 96 x 16 pixels. The latter comes as a bonus and displays the time as well as the respective info when the phone is in stopwatch mode. Finally, the Meridiist offers a 2-Mpix camera and 2 GB of built-in memory for occasional multimedia use.
