Dell Adamo, the world’s thinnest laptop

The new compact laptop Adamo by Dell was apparently inspired by the MacBook Air, judging by its format as well as by its uncluttered design. If, like the MacBook Air, the Adamo has no optical reader and offers a 13-inch ultra-thin format thanks to an amazing glass screen, the latter is even better because Dell managed to create a machine that is even thinner: only 16 mm thick. The ultra-thin screen with a 13.4-inche diagonal, is remarkable thanks to its reduced edges and its glass surface – and, to complete this note of elegance, the keyboard shows a metal finish.

Dell Adamo: Admire or Desire

The Adamo comes in 2 versions with distinct performances: Admire or Desire. So, depending on the version, the computer carries an Intel Core 2 Duo processor at 1.2 or 1.4 GHz, with respectively 2 or 4 GB or RAM. For both versions, storage is ensured by an SSD flash disc of 128 GB. Below is the complete list of the features of both versions.

Main features of the Dell Adamo (all versions)

  • WLED 16/9 screen (high def, 720p), ultra-thin, 13.4 inches
  • Complete back-lit keyboard, with curvy shapes and metal keys
  • Built-in 1.3 Mpix webcam and digital microphone
  • E/S: Display Port, 3 USB ports (1 eSATA combination), audio output and built-in RJ-45 port

  • More than 5-hour battery life thanks to lithium polymer cells; 40 W/h
  • External optical reader available. External hard drive available.
  • Dimensions (L x P x H): 331 x 242 x 16.39 mm for 1.81 kg

Adamo Admire specs

Dell Adamo in Admire or Desire version: price and availability
