The new Mac Pro has finally arrived

The saga has been lasting for a good while. Although last summer we thought Apple would stop selling the Mac Pro (The end of Mac Pro?), soon everyone knew that Apple’s upscale product would be renewed, as of last September. In fact, it was only rumored last month that the new Mac Pro would arrive in March, recently equipped with Nehalem processors.

The Mac Pros now carry a new architecture (QuickPath Architecture) based on the new Intel Xeon. These quad-core processors comprise a memory controller for each processor, which induces performances that are noticeably improved. New Mac Pro: price and availability
|
|
Although the previous generation comprised only 2 model that one could customize at will, the new Mac Pro is now presented in 2 models, the main difference being their processors. Despite of this, numerous customization options are still available: processors at 2.93 GHz (1xQuad) or 2.66 GHz (2xQuad) or 2.93 GHz (2xQuad), memory that can be extended to 32 GB and cards to be selected between an NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 ar an ATI Radeon HD 4870/512.
