Intel communicates regarding the new Xeon processor

Intel held a conference to announce that the new Xeon processors with Nehalem architecture were already in the process of being produced and that they should equip some computers before the end of the semester. Knowing the special relationship between Apple and the microprocessor giant, it’s a safe bet that the first computer to use the Xeon Nehalem for the first time will be a Mac Pro.

Intel Xeon and QuickPath architecture for the new Mac Pro

To sell well (especially at such a price), the new Mac Pro will have to offer strong assets. According to AppleInsider, the Mac Pro will have a new architecture (QuickPath Architecture) based on the new Intel Xeon. These quad-core processors will integrate a memory controller for each processor, which should greatly improve the machine’s performances.

With this, Intel’s announcement reinforces the rumor, relayed by AppleInsider, according to which the new Mac Pro could be released at the end of March. Let’s wait and see...
