In an horizontal form, the Sanyo WH1 offers image quality of 720P. So it is high def, but still far from the full HD 1080 of its elder brothers (not waterproof) the Xacti HD2000 and FH1. A new battery would, according to Sanyo, offers 3h20 of use, which would indeed be brilliant. The WH1 offers a great focal range with a 30x lens.
As all the Xacti range by Sanyo for Spring 2009, the WH1 can take pictures on the fly while a video is being recorded, and this without changing modes. Its pics and videos are stored on SD or SDHC cards. With no ‘moveing’ storage such as a tape or a hard drive guarantees that the camcorder will be solid.
