Sony Vaio P review: pros and cons

The website LaptopMag.com managed to get hold of a pre-production model of the Sony Vaio P, the new ultraportable of the Japanese manufacturer, which attracted a lot of attention when it was presented only a few days ago at the CES expo 2009. During the review the qualities of this machine, as well as its fine-tuned design and its reduced weight, are easily noticed – just as its spacious and comfortable keyboard. However, the performances with Windows Vista OS don’t seem to measure up according to the tester.

Price of the Sony Vaio P abroad

The main drawback of Sony’s machine, further to its operating system (hum!), is its price. Indeed the Sony Vaio P is priced from USD 899; and with the same configuration as for the review, the ultraportable costs no less than USD 1 199. Its price in Europe should be as expensive. That’s nowhere near the concept of low-price netbooks which is followed by the other manufacturers.
