An efficient old time recipe

The E-30, just like the E-30 from which it heritates of major DNA content, is, as we know from Olympus, a 4:3 based camera with integrated image stabilisation. This allows the users to benefit of image stabilisation without having to buy stabilised lenses. The sensor is still the also well-known 12,5 megapixels Live Mos which ensures the E-30's Live View capability.
The SWF (Super Wave Filter), Olympus ultra efficient sensor cleaning system is still on board this new camera. 11 point autofocus system will offer a pretty wide coverage of the frame as the sensor is a bit smaller than what we see in other brand's SLRs. Let's note this interesting set of digital effects which are applied on the picture as it is taken like grainy film, soft focus, great for portraits, or pop art for example.

Swivelling screen

One of the biggest advantage of this new Olympus SLR will definitely be its swivelling LCD screen which, even though it offers a 230 000 pixels lower resolution than competition, will bring many good points both on practical and creative angles of view. Just like on a plane, the E-30 will tell you how straight the horizon. This is great for taking right pictures at first without having to reframe them. Still on the screen, Olympus introduces a new image comparison system which will work like an on screen digital light table.
