RAW files of such cameras like the Lumix LX3, the FZ28, the new micro four thirds G1 or the FX150 will now be handled by Windows Vista in the Explorer or the Gallery if you install this small codec that Panasonic has finally developed and that you can download here

Shooting RAW is a big thing now and according to our opinion, it is a major advantage of these advanced cameras. RAW gives us so much more editing room that it would be a pitty to be limited to in-camera generated JPEG files. Yes, but we need the tools to work on the RAW files !
