Open Handset Alliance

A lot of manufacturers seem to be willing to launch portable devices with Google mobile operating system inside although we do not know exactly how HTC G1 with Android will behave on the market. Asus, HTC and Motorola could become the Android most prolific manufacturers. But let's keep in mind that Google has created the "Open Handset Alliance" which gathers manufacturers like Samsung as well. This gives a better idea of the coverage Android could soon benefit from !

An Asus EePhone and a ful range of Motorola Android phones

According to Taiwanese Digitimes magazine, Asus, a long time Windows mobile OS user could be about to launch a new smartphone based on Android instead of WM as soon as early 2009. Motorola, according to the Wall Street Journal, would refocus its activity around Adroid platform for all connected devices while the professional range may remain under Windows Mobile.
