Canon G10 : Resolution vs ISO
The Canon G10 is a nice alternative to Panasonic Lumix LX3 or Nikon Coolpix P6000. It also offers a premium quality zoom lens with integrated image stabilization and the RAW file format. The Canon, with its 14 megapixels sensor suffers from high ISO noisy images as we could fear and the review revealed than shots above ISO 200 were a beet too grainy with washed away fine details because of noise reduction. 800 and 1600 ISO mode are to be kept away from. But the review of the PowerShot G10 also shows that the main positive point og the G10 is its 28-140mm zoom lens. The viewfinder and the screen have both been improved in comparison with the previous PowerShot G9.

Conclusion of the Canon G10 review : yes, but…
Both a rather high price tag and too noisy images at higher ISO settings has made impossible for PhotographyBlog to give the highest rate to the Canon G10. But, having said that, the review also states that the G10 is a serious alternative to entry level DSLR and other high end compact cameras. Would the fact that the reviewer was very reluctant to return the PowerShot G10 to Canon at the end of the review finally be the best rating of this camera ?
