Also new to Cyber-shot, EX High-Speed Burst Mode allows high-speed shooting at up to five frames per second which is great for fast moving sports. Improved Face Detection technology adjusts exposure and skin tone for better-looking portraits. It now offers faster tracking plus the ability to distinguish automatically between children and adults. Another Sony innovation, Smile Shutter waits until the subject smiles before firing the shutter to ensure happy faces in every frame. Also powered by the BIONZ image processor, the D-Range Optimizer adjusts exposure for natural-looking results with backlit scenes where there's a risk of losing highlight and shadow detail.

The bright 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD offers a basic resolution of 230 000 pixels for framing and viewing shots, even when you're outdoors. There's also an optical viewfinder that offers extra familiarity for compact camera users switching to digital. An HD Output lets you enjoy your memories in super-size on any HD Ready display. HD slide shows can be enjoyed with a choice of musical accompaniments and visual effects. Connecting the W300 to any PhotoTV HD compatible TV (via optional output adaptor cable) delivers even more picture quality with extraordinary realism.
The new Cyber-shot W300 will be available from End of April.
