Aperture vs Lightroom

Apple Aperture 2 has been released last week and now has come the time to compare Aperture and Adobe Lightroom.

The Aperture specialized website "apertuprofessional.com" has published a well thought list of all features that Aperture offers and that Lightroom does not offer yet. This is quite interesting to give a second chance to Apple photography main software which has lost the game against Adobe Lightroom. Will this Aperture 2 reverse the trend ? Actually this article should help although we do regret this list of features in one side only : you will not find all the things Lightroom does (or does better) that Aperture can't do.

For instance, the site emphasizes the good points of the integration of Aperture's libraries and projects into Apple's iLife system and the ability to send email with pictures in attachment with one only one click. Of course, the automatic upload towards .mac account is something Aperture can do but that Lightrom can't. The main feature of Aperture that people will appreciate is this innovative loupe tool. But smart albums and hierarchical keywords are also among Aperture most wanted functions.

So after having read this full list of features that you will find in Apple Aperture only, would you switch to Appl's application and dump Lightroom ?
