This may look like an UFFO in our market today but we have to admit that the Sigma SD1 is something most photographers have dreamt of, one day or an other. Taking advantage of the nice large sensor of a D-SLR but with the size of a compact camera. The SD1 is embedding the Foveon X3 sensor of the SD14 and should give very nice results in terms of image quality at least until ISO 800 or more. That would be impossible to achieve with a small sensor as found in average compact digital cameras. The Foveon sensor is quite innovative as well as it is made of 3 layers capturing light in one color each just like our old film.
