Sony Alpha 200 : a gentle evolution
The body is the same as the A100's (very similar to Konica Minolta and Minolta D5). What a story for this body that is really fashionable today. Like the A100, the A200 offers a 10.2 mexapixels sensor, but this time i twill be able to reach ISO 3200. The embedded image stabilization, called Super Steady Shot, can work with any lens while with other leader brands like Canon and Nikon you have to invest in expansive stabilized optics (Nikon's VR and Canon's IS). Sony proudly shows the EV 2.5-3.5 speed gained by the integrated stabilization system. Here is a very interesting performance that we will check precisely.

Optimized autofocus
The autofocus has been updated to offer 9 central cross type sensors, a new treatment algorithm and a new motor. According to Sony, the aim is to obtain a faster autofocus and a better view of moving subjects. In fact, since the Nikon D300's launch, lightspeed fast like autoficus are not only for pro D-SLR.

A 750 photos batterylife
A new 2,7" screen with " clear LCD " technology makes the camera easier to use. It offers a 230 000 pixels resolution. The use of batteries (in which Sony is particularly performant), will also be improved with a remaining battery lafe shown in precise percentages. The Alpha 200's Lithium battery should allow 750 photos. An optional battery grip, the VG-B30AM, will allow to take easily pictures in portrait orientation but also to take two NP-FM500H lithium batteries.
