This new LUMIX FS serie is an entry level set that offers various sophistications. Each is delivered without batteries and works with rechargeable or AA alkaline batteries. They all share modes named iA by Panasonic, that means "Intelligent Auto": face detection, auto ISO (detection of the target's movement, adaptation to sensitivity) or even auto mode scene (the camera chooses the appropriate scene).

LUMIX DMC-FS20

The FS20 is a 10 megapixels. It offers every intelligent mode like face detection, auto ISO, and the scene detection but does not have the intelligent management of exposition. Its sensitivity is ISO1600 and it offers a 460 000 pixels and 3" screen for a really good framing and viewing comfort. Its 4x optical zoom begins at 30MM and ends at 120MM.

LUMIX DMC-FS5
The LUMIX DMC-FS5 is exactly the same as the FS20 but has traded off the beautiful 460000 pixels 3" screen for a simple but efficient 230 000 pixels 2.5x screen.

LUMIX DMC-FS3

Finally, the LUMIX FS3, an 8 megapixels, is different from its brothers by its wide angle lens which is not as short as on the FS5 and FS20 as it will be a 33MM. It is a 3x 33-100MM. However, like the whole Panasonic range, the FS3 is an optically stabilized camera thank to the mega O.I.S system. It keeps the latest Venus Engine IV and a 2.5" for 230 000 pixels screen.
