Nikon is proudly announcing the production of the 40 000 000 th Nikkor lens since it started business in 1932 with Nikkor lens for Leica and Contax cameras. In 1959, Nikkor produced the first Nikkor lens for Nikon SLRs with 44mm screw mount. Now, technologies make new things possible like ED glass, Autofocus and image stabilization. Times have changed but Nikon really wants to show us how experienced they are in building lenses.
