New nugget function in Photoshop CS5 : lens correction

Just like DxO Optics Pro, Bibble via PT Lens, Photoshop CS5 will feature an anxiously expected function : the correction of optical deviance of lenses. It is now still unclear if this is a filter or a plug-in in Photoshop CS5 but it uses a database of lens profiles allowing to balance vignette, distorsion.... of your lens. We warmly welcome this new function in Photoshop CS5 and do hope Adobe will logically embed it both in Camera Raw and Lightroom.

Content aware healing tool in Photoshop CS5

But there is more to discover in this video from Photoshop World held last week in orlando where Johnny L., senior VP of Adobe unveils interesting stuff aside from the new packaging of Photoshop CS5. In this footage, you will also see a new demo of the PatchMatch technology which allows content-aware filling. To make it clear : you may erase a disturbing object in your photo but here, Photoshop CS5 really does "imagine" the missing pixels extrapolating the texture and motives of the surrouding background pixels. Impressive !
