LaCie announces the Big Disk Extreme+ a well found name solution for storing datas with capacities of 1 to 2 To and 3 connexions. Its transfer rate of 90 MB / s is quite impressive.


The Big Disk, from LaCie, really is a big disk ! But with a capacity of up to 2 Tb, yes, 2000 Gb, it is also super fast thank to 3 connexion types : FireWire 800, 400 and USB 2.0. On paper, it should allow a transfer speed of up to 90 MB/s. Its design has been made so that it can be stored vertically. On its front face, it offrs a shortcut button which lances either the datas backup on your computer or any other software that you will have assigned to this blue button. Built in aluminum alloy steel, it is both robust and lightweight. Heat is being both passively and actively extracted. The "intelligent fan" system is based on a thermal sensor to tune the fan on the appropriate speed.
 

The targeted users by LaCie with this Big Disk Extreme is both professionals who need a very large and reliable backup and storage solution. Video fans and professionals will also be able to work with SD and HD video with this disk thank to it high transfer rate (and mega large storage capacity). You may also chain a certain number of units together to get a larger volume if needed.
