Canon EOS 550D / Rebel T2i : an EOS 7D for all budget ?
|
Digital Rebel T2i or EOS 550D gets a lot of what is making the success of the EOS 7D starting with the excellent APS-C 18 megapixels sensor which, allied with the DIGIC IV processor, allows the SLR to decently reach ISO 12 800 without hurting image quality in any way. Just like on the EOS 7D, the EOS 550D / Rebel T2i features Full HD video recording which is just great for videographers even if it also lack of continuous AF in movie mode (you then have to push the AF button to refocus on the new subject or if it has moved.). The innovative iCFL metering system on 63 area is on board the newest addition to canon's SLR range. It will also be compatible with the new SDXC format memory cards and supports Eye-Fi cards for easy and cheap tethered shooting. Its autofocus gets a wide area coverage through the APS-C size sensor with 9-points including one cross type in the center. The thing is, this SLR will be launch at $799 body only. It can be seen as a cheap yet efficient alternative to the EOS 7D.
It gets a smart 3:2 ratio LCD screen, perfect for viewing its 3:2 images. It also offers an impressive megapixels resolution.
